Terms of Use
Effective date:
These terms apply to your use of StackSim, an educational project operated by Ritwik Shaw. By using the website, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. If you do not agree, stop using the website. No account or acceptance checkbox is required merely to browse.
Educational purpose
StackSim helps you study data structures and algorithms (DSA), JavaScript and Python code execution, and system design. Its demonstrations, high-level design (HLD) and low-level design (LLD) examples, where available, are simplified educational models. Roadmap entries are planned topics and do not promise available functionality or a delivery date.
Simulated latency, throughput, routing, capacity, and other measurements do not guarantee real production performance. Examples may omit operational details, edge cases, and failure modes. Independently review and test any ideas before using them in production. Educational content is not professional advice or a guarantee of interview or employment outcomes.
Your code and browser execution
User-written JavaScript and Python code runs locally in your browser, in an isolated runtime with execution and resource limits. StackSim does not send that JavaScript or Python code to its server for execution. Unsupported language features or resource-heavy programs may fail or be stopped. A browser session may still consume device resources.
You are responsible for the code and inputs you enter, for having permission to use them, and for keeping your own backups. Do not enter passwords, API keys, access tokens, personal or confidential information, or other sensitive data. Browser drafts and progress may be lost when site data is cleared, storage is unavailable, or the application changes.
Acceptable use
Use StackSim lawfully and respect other people’s systems and rights. You must not:
- Attack StackSim or third-party systems, seek unauthorized access, or interfere with availability or security.
- Attempt to bypass the browser sandbox, execution restrictions, timeouts, memory limits, or other safeguards.
- Use the website for malware, credential theft, cryptocurrency mining, or other harmful activity.
- Deliberately abuse resources or use automation to overload, disrupt, or exploit the service.
- Upload or enter material you have no right to use, or infringe another person’s intellectual property or privacy.
Ordinary educational experimentation, including debugging code that accidentally loops or fails, is expected. Report suspected security issues privately to ritwikshaw72@gmail.com and avoid testing against other people’s data or systems without permission.
Intellectual property
You retain ownership of code you write. Merely running or saving code locally in StackSim does not transfer ownership to the creator.
StackSim’s original branding, content, and software remain subject to their applicable intellectual-property rights and any expressly supplied licence. Public availability alone does not grant a licence to republish the project. Third-party open-source dependencies remain governed by their respective licences and notices; these terms do not replace those licences.
Availability and changes
The website is provided on an “as available” basis. Features and content may change, be interrupted, or be discontinued. No uptime commitment, support response time, or preservation of local drafts is promised. Access may be restricted to address abuse, security concerns, or legal requirements.
Disclaimers and reasonable limits of liability
Reasonable care is taken with educational material, but StackSim may contain errors or incomplete examples. To the extent permitted by applicable law, it is provided without warranties of accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, uninterrupted service, or error-free operation.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, Ritwik Shaw is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from use of the website, including loss of data, profits, or opportunities. Nothing in these terms excludes liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited. Your mandatory statutory rights remain unaffected.
Third-party services and privacy
External links, including GitHub and LinkedIn, are provided for convenience. Third-party services operate under their own terms and privacy policies; StackSim does not control their availability or content. See the Privacy Policy for local storage, technical information, and voluntary correspondence.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, subject to any mandatory protections that apply to you. No exclusive court or city jurisdiction is specified. If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent lawful.
Changes to these terms
Revised terms will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Review them when returning to the website. Changes operate prospectively, subject to any notice or agreement required by applicable law.
